Weight Loss - Here we come!

Ok so -- here I am back at it again! I had my beautiful baby boy in December..and he is 8 months already (!!!) so it's time to get this weight off. I am heavier than I have been in a long long time...not all the baby weight is off..and it's time I put time and effort into losing this weight!!

I joined WW and am ready to really dive into this. I want to lose 70 pounds and I have to do this for my health and my baby boy.

So here's to new starts and being successful!! I CAN DO THIS! :)

I'm Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOWEE I can't believe it! My HCG level is 392 which is a great level. I go in Saturday to test again to make sure that number doubles and ultrasound in 2 weeks.

I'm going to be a mom! WOW!

Today is the day!!! I got my blood taken this am..now I wait.....

Ugggh! I plan on working hard today to distract me from waiting. I sure hope they call this morning....but it could be this afternoon. I want to know now! ;)

Hi -- wow long time no post right? SORRY!! It's been a madhouse around here. As you know I'm going through IVF to try to become pregnant..and I'm through it all. Wish I would of documented it through the journal....but I didn't...dang it! I think it's because if it wasn't successful it would hurt to much to read about it later. Anyhow I'm through the process and let me tell you...the last 2 weeks waiting to find out if it was positive was the WORST! I go in tomm to get my results...however...................

I have been taking at home pg tests...and I'm excited to report I have a very positive line!!! I can't believe it. I'm anxious to get the official results tomm, then the waiting begins to see the heartbeat at 6 weeks. They say to be catiously optimistic until you see the heartbeat. I think another 2 weeks of waiting will kill me! :)

If this works it's a miracle, truly a miracle...with us only being able to give it one shot as it's expensive and insurance doesn't cover it...it just amazes me with a 37% chance of success and it may of worked for us? WOW

Anyhow will report back to let you know tomm results! :)

Almost the weekend yahoo! Well due to more snow and ice I didn't make it to weigh in the other day. However the scale and tight pants (Ha) are down from the weekend! :) With the husband eating healthier it has made dinner and at home MUCH easier!! We have given up all "white" products and eating brown rice and whole wheat pasta!! We eat that several times a week and to replace those items is a biggie. He's learning to like them and am super excited!

Money is tight the next couple months cause of the IVF so am trying to be frugal in what I buy at the store. I am a convience person -- I work long hours and am very tired at the end of the day and not much time in the morning to prepare meals. To plan lunches and pack them sometimes at night is a chore cause I'm just exhausted. (some of this is due to my MS I think) But I'm finding that since we are trying to plan more ahead of time and keep only healthy things in the house and I'm not buying all those quick and easy items (100 cal packs and granola bars ect) I'm eating better. Instead of 100 cal pack -- I have a green pepper w/ 100 calorie dip (I do spulrge on that as portioning out my salad dressing is a must for me!) or a cucumber w/ dip.

We spent ALOT at the store last week but some where items that will last weeks, and produce plus some meats should be all we need this week. I'm trying not to stop at the store midweek and only buy what we need on the weekend grocery trip. So far I think the large purchase from last weekend actually has saved us money this week so far, no add'l trips to the store this week - no eating out - and we see it on the scales too!

Anyhow -- as you can see I'm trying to "think" more about this process along the way......and hope this works out to my benefit! :)

Monday - Monday -- how I wish I were back in bed!! I'm tired today, I know it's a result of some bad eating yesterday. We went to a Superbowl Party last night and I had some snacks, and more snacks! I can feel my pants a little tight today....so know it's the result of that junk food I ate last night!!

This weekend wasn't bad, but wasn't good either (see last night above). We ate out Saturday night for dinner and even though I had tuna as an appetizer and a small steak for dinner and just a couple bites of potatoes and salad -- I ate too much of the bread. My weakness I have discovered is that yummy warm crunchy goodness of the bread!! Next time no bread!!!

Went grocery shopping this week and spent double what we normally do, loaded up on veggies and fruit -- planned out our week and are set! We did not however account for lunches on the weekend!! I need to be sure to do that for next weekend as it left us to graze on healthy snacks rather than a meal....and think it caused actually MORE calories than sitting down to a meal. Lesson learned!

I will face the scale tomm and admit to a lackluster eating weekend but a good plan for the week ahead! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Friday -- YEAH!! I'm so thrilled again it's Friday -- that means sleeping in, funny that's what I get excited about..ha ha. I can stay up late and sleep in! :)

This week I've really been trying to dig into why I overeat. Really question - WHY? And you know what? I have the HARDEST time figuring it out!! I don't know why. No clue! Is this why I'm not successful in losing weight? Maybe a piece of the puzzle? Why IS FOOD SO IMPORTANT to me? If I overeat or eat something I shouldn't have I question the why's and it's strange I have no idea...none! Odd...

Anyhow I have been pretty good this week with the exception of having some candy on Wednesday!! We are going to start planning our meals more -- well dinner anyhow -- I already do my breakfast and lunch. Since the husband is committed to changes this will help as the night time has been the challenge for me lately...and with him on board it should be easier to change that.

I made Hamburger Stoganoff last night and it was soooo good!! It came out to be 8 points per serving w/ a serving of whole wheat noodles. Also had a side of veggies. I don't have nutrition info (it's at home) but should be easy to figure out if you want to!

Hamburger Stroganoff
serves 4
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 onion chopped (I used a generous amt of onion flakes)
Sliced mushrooms (I left this out, but some like them! Don't remember how many)
1/2 cup beef stock
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
1 Tablespoon flour
1 Cup Lite Sour cream

Brown ground beef, onions and mushrooms. Drain fat and sprinkle beef w/flour and mix together. Add beef stock and tomato paste. Continue to cookover low heat until thick (or until noodles or rice are done!). Take off heat and add sour cream. Serve over noodles or rice!

Well my goal is to stay on track for the weekend and with the husband on board should be easier to tackle. We are making a menu for the week together this weekend and hitting the grocery!

Hello Hello! I'm back! Man on man lots going on around here lately. Sorry haven't posted. Diet front...eeeeh not that great. But back on it this week, haven't weighed in since last time due to tons of crapola going on. Anyhow -- back to my menus this week!

My husband has an issue that is requiring surgery and has him really wanting to eat better as well. He also has high blood pressure and is wanting to begin to eat better to help control that. I'm thrilled I have a partner now in this!! Yahhooo!

Also we are about to begin the processed called IVF, so yes trying to have a baby!! The percentages that this will be successful is pretty low but am optimistic and hopefully. It is VERY expensive and our insurance does NOT cover this so we are only able to try this one time. I'm in the beginning stages and had my blood drawn yesterday and Monday going for my first appointment. Either way the outcome is I'll be ok -- my life is good now, so if it doesn't include any children of my own that is ok, I have my 2 stepdaughters! :)

ALSO big drum roll! I quit smoking, yes I was a smoker!! It is now into week 3 of not smoking and I have to say I am just fine. I am not using food as a substitute nor am I a mess...ha ha My husband on the other hand is having a little harder of a time but he'll be ok!

So big changes and lots going on in my life -- BUT am still working on losing weight as well, some may say that's too much but I don't think so -- am working on making myself more healthy and that includes eating better!
